See what a page sends before anyone clicks a banner.
A cookie checker opens a web page the way a first-time visitor does and lists the cookies and outside services it loads before any consent is given. Under the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules, most of these need a yes first, unless you remove them.
Most checkers stop at a list of cookies and point you to a banner. This one also tells you which services you can make private without a banner at all: Google Fonts can be hosted on your own site, YouTube, Vimeo and Google Maps can wait for a click, and Gravatar can be switched off. What is left, such as analytics or ad pixels, is what a fair banner should ask about.

Three things we look for
- 01
Step 1: Outside services
Scripts, fonts, frames and images from other servers, matched against a library of common services.
60+ services - 02
Step 2: Cookies
Cookies the server sets on the very first visit, before anyone clicks a banner.
First load - 03
Step 3: What to fix
Which services need consent and which CookieSure removes the need for, with one click.
Plain words
Is the cookie checker free?
Yes. No sign-up, no email. We check one page and keep the result for 10 minutes only, so repeat checks are fast.
Why can the plugin find more than the checker?
The checker reads the page source without running its scripts, so services that other scripts load later are not seen. The CookieSure plugin scans up to 50 pages in a real browser.
Does a clean result mean my site is GDPR compliant?
No. It shows what one page loads on first visit. Compliance depends on your whole site and how you run it, so this is not legal advice.
Can I check any website?
Any public website address. Private addresses and local networks are blocked, and there is a limit of a few checks per minute.
What is the difference between cookies and outside services?
A cookie is a small file stored in the visitor's browser. An outside service is anything the page loads from another company's server, such as fonts, videos or scripts. Both can share personal data, which is why the checker lists both.
Which services need consent?
Anything that tracks visitors or sends their data to another company for its own use, such as analytics, ad pixels and most embeds. Services needed to run the site, such as payment or spam protection, usually do not.
How do I fix what the checker finds?
On WordPress, install the free CookieSure plugin. It hosts Google Fonts locally, makes YouTube, Vimeo and Maps click-to-load with one click, and holds analytics and ad tags until the visitor says yes.
Found something? Fix it free.
CookieSure hosts fonts locally, makes embeds click-to-load and shows a banner only if you still need one.
